General Visa Requirements for visiting The Islamic Republic of Iran

  1. The applicant’s passport must be valid at least six months, with a minimum of two blank pages.
  2. The application form must be completed in duplicate for business visas. Forms (R1-R2) can be downloaded here.
  3. Two recently taken passport size photographs, (ladies are respectfully requested to observe the Islamic dress called Hejab in their photographs)
  4. Proof of payments of a non-refundable processing fee. The fee can be paid by
    • postal order or Bank Drafts payable to the embassy of the Islamic Republic or Iran.
    • By credit/debit card in the embassy.
  5. Visa application fees for British Nationals.
  6. Holders of British passports will be fingerprinted.


The documents can be delivered in person or sent by mail to the visa section, the consulate of the embassy of the I.R.Iran, 50 Kensington Court, London W8 5DB.
If you would like us to mail back your passport, you must provide us with a prepaid self addresses signed for envelop.

If an application is denied, the passport will return to the applicant-no reason may be given for the rejection and fee is not refundable.
We shall make every effort to process your application as quickly as possible but we must strongly advise you to check that all the required documentation has been submitted ad the fee has been paid. Incomplete applications are subjected to delays . Once a visa has been issued, it is valid for three months from the date of authorisation.
